Neither the mama or the baby otter die and are very cute the whole time. They were named, but admittedly I didn't expect there not to be any reviews yet for this (and felt the need to fill the genre) and so I forgot them the moment I left the theatre. Watched on IMAX at Royal BC Museum's 6 story screen, it is very possible this influenced my viewing experience as I could see the tiny otters in the gigantic drone shots because those tiny otters were projected at roughly the size of an office building. There was one moment where the otter son was being a total freak and his mom literally had to drag him away and it was the best part. Admittedly little tension, nothing scary happens, but all in all, it was cute otters on a large screen.
